Rovo is Confluence Cloud’s built-in AI assistant, designed to help you work smarter and faster. You can access it anytime using the Ask Rovo option in the top-right corner of your browser. Rovo understands your Confluence content and workflows, and it also integrates with other Atlassian products, to give you quick, relevant support as you create, edit, and manage information.

Rovo enables you to:

  • Ask about Confluence features, best practices, and troubleshooting

  • Get AI-powered help to create, edit, and format pages

  • Find quick guides, tips, and examples tailored to your work

  • Draft content and get instant suggestions for improvement

  • Create or choose agents to automate tasks (integrates with Jira)

  • Work directly with your Confluence content for faster, smarter productivity

Search

Rovo search can be utilized from the main Confluence search bar in the top middle of any Confluence page.

Click the Ask Rovo button in the top right of your browser to open the Rovo Chat sidebar.

Summarizing Tickets with Rovo

Rovo can automatically summarize comments attached to support tickets.

Open a ticket, scroll down to Activity, and click Summarize in the comments tab.

Rovo Agents

  1. In the Rovo Chat interface, users can find or create Rovo agents. Click the three-line contextual menu button to see a list of pre-populated agents.

    The contextual menu button opens the agents menu.

     

  2. Browse or search for the agent you want or choose a starred Agent.

  3. Hover over an agent to see a description. Click on it to use the agent.

  4. Or click the plus icon to create your own agent.

You can interact with agents conversationally the same way you use Rovo chat.

  • Chat: Work with any Agent through Rovo Chat by browsing Agents or selecting a starred Agent.

  • Editor: Draft content with Agents through Rovo AI features integrated in the editor, such as within Confluence or Jira.

  • Automations: Automate your workflows with Agents using a trigger in an automation rule.

Favoriting Agents

You can add agents to your favorites list to make them easier to find.

Sharing Agents

Agents can also be shared with teammates by copying their share link and sending it to others.

Instead of creating an agent from scratch, you can duplicate an existing one and customize it. Duplicate agents to

  • create similar agents with slight modification

  • maintain consistency across different teams or project with customization that fit your unique workflows

  • Experiment with different agents while keeping the original intact

  1. Open the Rovo menu and click then three-line button, then click View all agents.

  2. Hover over the agent you want to duplicate and then click the three-dot button that pops up on the right.

  3. This will open the Atlassian Studio and automatically create a copy of the agent that you can modify to fit the needs of your new agent. Rename your agent and make modifications.

  1. Click the Ask Rovo button in the top right corner of your Confluence Cloud browser window to open the Rovo Chat sidebar.

  2. In the Chat interface, click on the three-line contextual menu button.

    Click on the hamburger menu to the left of the Rovo drop-down.

     

  3. Click the plus button to the right of the Agents drop-down.

  4. This will open Atlassian Studio in a new window.

  5. In that chat box, describe the type of agent you want to create.

    Describe the purpose of your agent.

     

  6. After choosing a name, you can begin to refine the Agent’s behavior by adding more context to it’s directive.

  7. Once you are done refining, click Review Agent.

  8. In the Agent’s Overview you will see a preview of it’s functionality and will have the ability to alter or adjust any of the following:

    • Scenarios: allow you to instruct your agent to do things differently depending on the situation.

    • Behavior: Let’s you can set your agent’s traits and goals, these are the instructions your agent always follows, no matter the situation.

    • Knowledge: You can add knowledge to your agent’s scenarios so it has the right information to answer prompts in each situation.

    • Skills: you can add skills to your agent’s scenarios so it can connect and take action across apps.

  9. Once you are done, click Activate.
